Debian 12 : feedback

Hello dear all,

so I played a bit with tango on debian 12.

There is an issue with MariaDB : the solution is here.

Pogo does not work with OpenJDK 17 (the one provided in debian 12), you can use OpenJDK 11 (LTS). Some compiled versions are available in the "tags" section here.

That's all for now.

Thanks for the feedback.

The referenced issue mentions MySQL but you write MariaDB. We are using MySQL/MariaDB on earlier debian/ubuntu versions without any issues in CI.

Can you please open issues on TangoDatabase, https://gitlab.com/tango-controls/Tangodatabase, and pogo, https://gitlab.com/tango-controls/pogo with the following infos:
- OS
- Tango version
- Source of the binaries: Compiled yourself, package, package source
- What was not working and how you fixed it?

We can then have a look, thanks.

Hi,

thank you for the answer.
About Pogo, it is a problem already known : In Debian 12, the OpenJDK package's version is 17. On the gitlab page, the supported versions are 11 to 15.

I will try to open an issue on TangoDatabase about MariaDB with more details.
