Hi there,

Up to know we were happy with our Lima devices. We were using 1282x1026 pixels cameras and we only had to display binned and compressed images in various framerate from 1 to 10Hz in java HMIs and once in a while a full size image.

But things change and we are now asked to deal with 4K camera and applications that display full resolution pictures. Lima seems to perform well for the acquisition…except that ATK struggles to display a single image from it, nevertheless that is not the problem here as our applications are able to display those images. But that has a cost in performances. Indeed, we have to deal with 5 to 30 cameras that generates 25MB pictures every seconds. Network is OK as the devices servers are spread across computers and hardware is chosen accordingly but we are asked to be able to display images from at least 15 cameras at the same time on a single computer which, according to my computation, seems to be impossible without upgrading that computer to a near super-sayan level.

Here are my questions:
  • Has anyone already displayed that much images on a single computer, if so, how?
  • Has anyone manage that much information and how?
  • Is there a "good way" to display images without altering them too much?

Thank you
