Hi all,

After 5 alphas and almost a year of rigorous testing and killing bugs, there's finally a new STABLE release for PANIC: 6.0, the Python Alarm System for Tango

https://github.com/tango-controls/PANIC/releases/tag/6.0-release

And, as you may imagine, it requires an update to the latest Fandango:

https://github.com/tango-controls/fandango/releases/tag/12.6.1

In both links you'll find the changelog for these releases. The scope of the 6.0 release had changed a bit and prioritized solving and testing many old bugs and standardizing the behavior of the many parameters that are supported by PyAlarm.

And now they are DOCUMENTED!!!

http://pythonhosted.org/fandango/

You'll find many examples in the Recipes section; most of them debugged by the TCS team in the last year (thanks a lot guys!).

Having a new Taurus4 GUI is still ongoing, but it will have to wait to the 6.1 release (not later than may).

The IEC 62682 compliance and the compatibility with C++ Tango Alarm System are also in schedule for 6.2

And last but not least, you can get last releases with "pip":
