Starter

Hi,

Am I getting this right:
Astor is connected to all Starter servers. If Starter is in control of some Device server, Astor can manage and control that Device Server. Is this right?
Also, are levels of controlling same as logging levels?

Yes you are right. The philosophy is there is one Starter device per host and that Astor connects to all the Starters on all the hosts it should control. The Starter device server starts with or without the database so it can be started as a daemon at boot time. It will then start all device servers which have been configured as "controlled" in ascending order of the level i.e. all device servers of level 1, then level 2, then level 3 etc. This enables you to start certain servers before others. Astor is the graphical tool for connecting to the Starters and displaying their status and sending commands e.g. restart a device server, check the error logs, uptimes etc. Documentation on Astor can be found here:
