available tools for TANGO

Hi tangoers,
there are a lot of tools available for TANGO, we discussed this topic during the last meeting in Toulouse.

On the page http://www.tango-controls.org/resources/documentation/tools/ there are some tools without any link :

One could probably add the list which has been presented in Toulouse 2016, this work would be very useful.

In a message in september 2016, Lucio announced eGiga is discontinued and egiga2m replace it. eGiga should probably at least be completed by egiga2m (with the link https://github.com/luciozambon/eGiga2m).

PS : I do not know if the forum is the way to send this information, if not, what is the good way?

Hi,

I have a doubt regarding the Tools and Projects. For example, we have HDB++ in the community projects page but not in the tools page.

I also would find interesting to move Alarms from community projects to the Tools section; but I'm not sure if we have a policy for what goes where.

I've found at least 3 separate lists where tools are listed:

http://www.tango-controls.org/downloads/tools/
http://www.tango-controls.org/resources/documentation/tools/
http://www.tango-controls.org/community/projects/

It seems to me http://www.tango-controls.org/resources/documentation/tools/ could be completed with information found into http://www.tango-controls.org/community/projects/ and http://www.tango-controls.org/downloads/tools/

I also discovered at Kracow some slides presenting a lot of tools (I think it was out of agenda so I can't find it at http://www.tango-controls.org/community/events/29th-tango-collaboration-meeting/ page). These slides would probably have there place there.

You are both right - there is some work to be done on the Tools page. I for one had forgotten about the very cool Egiga2m project.

Any volunteers to help with this?

I found this map, it is available into Ressources/documentation/Map (http://www.tango-controls.org/resources/documentation/map/).
Please note it seems to be the version from 2015.

Hi Philippe,

I agree the map is very helpful - credit goes to ELI-ALPS who developed the original version.

The map has been updated, split into 3 parts and integrated into the documentation e.g.

Hi,
on page http://www.tango-controls.org/developers/#tango-ecosystem I suggest to replace E-Giga by egiga2m (https://github.com/luciozambon/eGiga2m).
Probably LImA (http://lima.blissgarden.org) has also a place to win here.
